When i began kueen lai group nearly 20 years ago, it was with a simple objective – to create properties that would raise the quality of life of those who would live in it. At the time, not much thought was put into many of the properties i visited or bought. The focus of development was very much on value for money on the basis of the square footage of a property but i felt this did little for the occupants aside from giving more room and so, i embarked on a journey of change. I remember, in one of our first projects – a medium cost low-rise apartment building with routine specifications at the time, we discovered that a number of buyers were retirees so we provided a lift in each block at our own cost, when we had no requirement or commitment to do so. We did this because I believe that sometimes while something is right it is not always just. This is another core value on which the group is built. Today, we won our first international awards and accolades transforming us into an award winning developer of international stature and recognising our on-going effort in the journey to becoming a purveyor of lifestyles. We will strive to build on this in the coming year and thereafter. Our coming projects further enhanced with the beginning of our next phase of change and a new path in our journey where sustainability will intimately define our brand and company.
